Quote of the Day:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -Marianne Williamson (A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles)

They Say It's A Man's World

I placed this situation on my Twitter....I placed it on my Facebook and I received a lot of feedback. Here's the situation.....

Isn't it funny how no man likes seeing a woman in his family hurt by a man. Yet, many will hurt so many other women....Just something to think about!

Quote of the Day:

Here's a quote that I just made up. I come to realize people really like my quotes...I need to work on that book!

"A fool can call it a rock...when it's a jewel. Just because they don't know the worth doesn't means it's worthless."

Beginning with Children Foundation Gala Event

Summer time + heat + life= hard to update regularly. Please forgive me.

Anyways, last week I was invited to a gala to celebrate something that has influenced me to be the young woman I am today. The gala was for the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Beginning with Children Foundation and the founders, Joe and Carol Reich.

Joe and Carol Reich were two successful individuals who decided one day to make an investment in education. To do this they created a partnership with New York City Board of Education, the United Federation of Teachers, and Pfizer Inc, as well as received help from sponsors throughout the years. As the school continue to gr0w (might I add I was the third class to graduate and was the first biggest class to graduate, which was around 48 students), it was converted to a charter school requested by the Chancellor of the City of New York. This made Beginning with Children one of the first K-8 public charter schools in New York State.

Beginning with Children Charter School or B.W.C as many of the alumni and students would call it, played...well still plays an important role in my life. Yes, they used to spoiled us as children to parties at Pfizer, to having our own little private park in the middle of Bed-Stuy/Williamsburg area, to family picnics, to trips to Cornell University to Washington D.C., and I can go on but I'll leave it at etc. Although, I have become an alumni to B.W.C I am not forgotten and so are many other alumni because to this day they still spoil us with opportunities. Great opportunities like college preparation and tours, workshops, paid internships/jobs, and again I can go on.
I had a lovely time at the gala. I met some great important people and I seen some old teachers, along with seeing some great old friends. One of B.W.C. first graduates, Omar Lopez hosted the event. He's a Harvard graduate who is already on his road to success, but he has also shown a obvious love to giving back to his community and where he came from. Omar is currently teaching at a charter high school, but did announce he will be teaching next year at B.W.C new sister school Community Partnership Charter School.
Wow!!! Beginning with Children has come a long way, but I can't forget one of my mentors and the woman who helped kept the foundation of B.W.C together, Sonia Oritz-Gulardo. She has done so much for me and many of the students of B.W.C. She was my first principal who told me when I was wrong, but she was also one of the first individuals to see something in me. I remember I had a conflict that needed to be discussed in the principal's office, which was her office. I spoke and expressed myself so well about the situation, and I knew this because Ms. G (as we call her) expressed this to me. It was good hearing this from someone who knew me as a shy little girl who have watched me grow into a more outspoken young girl. Haha, now those who know me today know I am very outspoken!

Overall, this event brought back so many memories that I had to try my best to hold back so many tears, especially when Ms. G shed a few tears as she shared a wonderful speech about B.W.C with us.

QiQi's Corner: Wonder Why Brandy's Daughter is Not On Current Reality Show?

Recently, a few people and I had a conversation about why Brandy's daughter, Sy'rai, is not on her current reality show "Family Business." I think I was more confuse because her daughter was seen on the "Love of Ray J," but not her current family reality show.

Well after doing some research or googling...I found the answer! Brandy supposedly does not want her daughter to be in the public eye or cameras anywhere near her daughter. She explains in details to Parade Magazine:

'"That’s strictly because her father and I felt it was best for her to have as much of a normal life as possible. Of course, you’ve seen her on one episode on ‘For the Love of Ray J,’ but it wasn’t every day. You didn’t see her going to school, me combing her hair, or any aspect of our private, intimate moments, which sort of sucks because our relationship is so beautiful. I love being a mom and I’m raising her in a different way than how I was raised. Some things that my mom did with me, I do with my daughter — it’s just a different dynamic. I would love for people to see how I’m doing it because I think I could be a good example of a young, single mom.

A lot of mothers feel like they’re the mom first, with that authority. But for me, I’m a friend first. I believe that just being there for my daughter as a friend more than ‘I’m in charge…’ causes her to be more open with me as a person. That’s just what our relationship is. Of course, there are times when I have to discipline her — I’m mom. But there’s still that nurturing and love there that we have. I know I’ll probably get flack for being a friend first, but it really works. She’s really honest with me. I’m just teaching her how to trust herself. I tell her all the time that my life is not your life — you have your own life.

At the end of the day we’re going to be friends. When she grows up, it’ll be about that friendship that we’ll have. She’ll come to me for any problems that she has. If I have an authoritative wall up, she’s going to rebel and not come to me and I don’t want that.”

I guess that explains it all......

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the great fathers, but a special Happy Father's Day to great black fathers...like my daddy!

A True Human......

Another late night to myself, while I listen to some good non-stop music of Jah Cure. Currently playing "Never Say Never." Excuse my laziness guys, but I wanted to post a couple of things this week. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to. I will make sure they will all be up by the end of this week or weekend though.

So what has SheSoAmbitious been feeling for this Life post......

Well you guys should know what your own company can do...ummm whether you enjoy your own company or not, but anyways it just makes you: THINK and FEEL! So what I am thinking and feeling is ahead of my time. What I am thinking and feeling is how my future will impact many lives. From the ones who are trying or tried to hurt me, and to those who has always loved me to those who are going to love me!

I'm also THINKING and FEELING--tired. I am tired of trying with people. You know the people you try to be nice to and they take your kindness for weakness. Let us not forget those people, you knew forever who forgot you knew them forever and will put you last to people they met yesterday. I'm tired of having the heart that gives people the benefit of the doubt, so when they mess up or someone screw them over....I forget they screwed me over, but still my heart will allow me to lend a helping hand.

I like to think of it like a child and a parent relationship; a mother and daughter. As the daughter grows she starts to change and become a trouble teen. A trouble teen who starts to disrespect her mother and becomes destructive. One day the daughter decides to runs away from home and she depends on her friends for everything, who we all know doesn't really care for her like her mother would. Eventually, this teen daughter gets in trouble and calls her mother from a precinct because she just got arrested. What does the mother do after what her daughter put her through after that phone call???She goes rescue her daughter. Why? Because her love for her daughter and heart as a human won't allow her to just leave her daughter in that particular situation.

Now we all hear similar stories like this, so what does the daughter do after her mother rescues her????Chances are the daughter behavior doesn't change and it becomes a pattern in the relationship, while the mother is hoping one day her daughter catch the reality of the situation before its too late.

Sorry for the long analogy, but yea......I am sick of having those type of relationships with people because when I need a hand they hand is no where to be found. Anyways, life goes on.....you live and you learn! Leaving you guys with that.....I'm not mad just all smiles. Success is the best and sweetest victory...I won't say revenge because my belief is to seek revenge is to be stuck in the past and I'm all future babyyyyyy!!!!

QiQi's Corner: How Dare Diddy Compare Rick Ross to Biggie? 50 Cent Responds

Apparently Diddy said Rick Ross reminds him of Biggie, but 50 Cent speaks out and objects! I'm not a big 50 Cent fan, I will tell you this though....I love his interviews!!! I feel like they are entertaining and he speaks the TRUTH. Good Stuff take a listen...

AssataSays Private Networking Event

This Saturday Assata from AssataSays.com put on a great networking event. The purpose and mission of the event as Assata would put it was to bring "Some of the brightest and talented women together to help and celebrate one another."

Being a friend of Assata's I knew the hard-work she had put towards this event, as well as how nervous she was about launching this event. As I told Assata during the preparation of this event, along with what I told her after the event was simply these words: "Don't worry....It will be fine!" When in reality it was more than fine because the event was a success!
The event was held at Polish Bar at the Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights location. It was a room full of a few industry career women mingling and networking with young Ambitious Ones over manicures & pedicures. There was also some great wine and finger food offered to the guest. Let me not forget, there was also great goodie bags at the end like every successful event should have!
The best advice I think I took from this event was from a future Planner with Macy's and part of her advice was: "Speak good things into your life and continue to keep your faith in God with your dreams." I come to realize when you really have a deep conversation with someone and how they got somewhere in life dealing with their success it will usually come down to one thing....their faith in God.

Great work Assata looking forward to Part 2!

QiQi's Corner: Kid Cudi Arrested--Not So Much A Pursuit To Happiness

I love this guy, but he has to get it together! This past Friday Mr. Kid Cudi was arrested in New York on the charges of felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance. According to Sergeant John Butorn of the NYPD, the rapper was arrested in Manhattan and was not clear on the type of controlled substance found on the rapper. It was most likely weed because we know Kid Cudi! He was released in time though for a show on Saturday.

As I SMH, I realize this wasn't the first time this talented man been in trouble with the law. Kid Cudi was arrested last year in Los Angeles, but everything came out as a mistaken identity issue. Well before that issue, he also punched a fan who happened to be nice enough to not press charges on him.

Ummmm....I think we need more music Mr. Cudi, so can you stay out of trouble and make that happen. Thank you.

Ambitious Song of The Day: Keep Ya Head Up

QiQi's Corner:Trey Songz Kisses # 15

Okay, everybody has been talking about Trey Songz kissing a fan at Hot 97 Summer Jam this weekend that just past. Wait, but it has gotten bigger than that now because apparently this fan was only 15-years old!
Her name is supposedly Shermika from Brooklyn. Mediatakeout.com did they part on finding some photos of her and more info about her through her Twitter account. She's not a ugly girl, but she also doesn't looks like she's 15! SMH, this girl is younger than my little sister and I'm still in denial or think my sister still not kissing boys...and she better not be kissing no MAN (lol).
As for Trey, I hope you didn't give that poor girl Mono. ...

Ambitious Song of The Day: Young Forever

QiQi's Corner: A Mix of Drama in the Spotlight

Remember when we thought these two were going to be another POWER COUPLE, like Will and Jada. Well I guess we were wrong because of the big word: DIVORCE. Anyways, Nas moving on decided to cover up his tattoo of Kelis. The tattoo was a picture of Kelis topless in some jeans, which was placed on his arm.

So apparently, the new/alter tattoo is no longer Kelis face, but a lion's head that was once Kelis head. Ha, do you guys remember when 50 diss Nas about this tattoo???? Well he did! On the "Piggy Bank" track, which he states "Kelis said her milkshake bring all the boys to the yard...Then Nas went and tattooed the b*tch on his arm." Yup, the things we do when we are in love and the things we do when we fall out.

Moving on.....
As for those pregnancy rumors about Lamar Odom and Khole Kardashian having a baby= FALSE. According to Khole, "No, I'm just fat." I love her sarcasm!

Ready for this.....

Guess who has the cover of this month's June/July issue of Vibe Magazine????? Nicki Minaj.

By the way was Kim shooting subliminals in this video to Nicki...

I'm Backkkkkkkkk!

Yesssss!!!!!! It feels like forever my AMBITIOUS ONES, but I'm back! Been busy trying to make sure my life do not fall into pieces, while I also been living LIFE. Had a great Memorial week (wouldn't say weekend because the weekend was extended) with the family and friends. Hit up a few parties, met up for some socializing, and even took a trip with the family to share some "time share."

Oh yea, the picture???? Just my current mood and me RIGHT NOW (haha, yea I know). How about I explain with some colons:

Cup: My power drink for the night

Time: 1:06am

Pandora Station: Kirk Franklin

Mood: Carefree mix with a go-getter spirit---just one of them nights

Hmmmm....yea, tonight is Friday and I decided to stay in. I like to have dates with myself, as weird as that may sound...I like to just have some alone time. I mean I have my space to be alone most of the time, but I like to do things on my "Me Nights." For example, I like to write, listen to music, and even do little things like give myself a mani & pedi. I believe time to yourself gives you the opportunity to explore your ideas and thoughts, but most importantly you learn more about who you are by exploring within.

I figure this will be a Life post because I learned some valuable life lessons this week; I don't know where to begin. Well first, I must just say I am BLESSED for the family and friends I do have. When I was younger and even now, I always had this big guard up from people (this meant family and friends) because I just always felt the potential of betrayal they can do to you. Well as I have grown I have come to realize that's the price you pay to find the good people that should be in your life.

Another great lesson I have learned this week is about FORGIVENESS. Boy, isn't that word powerful? I mean we all say we may forgive someone, but do we really? I recently have witness someone in my life who haven't said the words "I forgive," but from their actions it is clear they forgiven someone who caused a great amount of damage in their lives. Honestly, I have witness another close person in my life who forgiven someone as well who has hurt them. What I come to realize although they say God forgive us all the time for our sins and wrongdoings, so we should forgive others is not the only reason why we should forgive.......

We should forgive because forgiveness is not only for the person who hurts us, but it is for us! When you TRULY forgive you are no longer the victim or holding on to some baggage that has been holding you down. Recently, a friend said to me "...maybe you don't hate me," in which I kind of chuckle to myself thinking Thank God I don't hate you. What I meant by that is thank God I don't hate them because if I did I would be a miserable person, the bitter young girl I used to be, and just another individual holding on to some baggage I don't need. So, on that note just forgive because it's a benefit you give to yourself.
