Quote of the Day:

"Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed." -Booker T. Washington

Ambitious Song of The Day: Beautiful, Dirty, Rich

She so creative, talented, and besides SheSoAmbitious I thought it was only right....

FREEBIES

Okay, I'm a big sample/freebie person! I think ever since I went to high school and attended events in where I received goodies/freebies I have been ADDICTED. In high school I went to workshops, showrooms, corporate offices, seminars and more places who just loved sharing, which I think is the reason why I'm addicted to samples, giveaways, and freebies.

People don't realize how many companies love sponsoring events and giving things away to get their name out there. For example, years back me and my friends had a party and our goody bags were filled of freebies to our guest, which was just complementary from our sponsors. I can go on for days about the things I have received from free to sample products I have tested. To name a few I have received Channel to Prada products, designer costume jewelry, designer t-shirts, lip gloss, flat irons, clutches/handbags, new energy drinks, beauty products and much more!

Another way I receive sample products and freebies is by just signing up! I love when I check my mailbox and there's a random gift in my mailbox. I don't care if it's a sample of a new shampoo or a new hair dye product ( these are all things I have received) the point is that it's FREE. The only chance you take by signing up for most on-line freebies that many are affected with spam, but don't worry I'm a pro ;-) that can assist you.

To help you guys out I have presented some freebies you can sign-up for now:
When you sign up for online freebies you want to always check the link. If the link is not from the company or from a official company/brand you don't know of....close the window. Also if they ask you to fill-out a survey..It's a no go!

The next thing you should do if you do find a official website...my thing is always give a email address you no longer use. This helps by still getting your freebie, but not seeing junk mail that follows sometimes. Another trick of mine is a different name. Yes, I have mail that comes to me under a different name. I do this because like I have said before these freebies sites are usually affected with spam and companies also want to follow through with you about their product. I had another reason why I use another name too, but I can't think of the reason right now...so please forgive me.

Ambitious Song of The Day: Some Day

My first time actually hearing this song, but I like it. I can relate in many ways. There's a gift and curse coming from nothing...It can either motivate you to making it or it can discourage you from making it...Thank God you have a choice....

Life Venting: Live & Gain the Knowledge of Life

Since I'm still trying to develop SheSoAmbitious I thought of a new section for you guys.

I will like to name this section the "Life" section of SheSoAmbitious, being that this blog does involves the things that surrounds the young ambitious one life. Basically, the "Life" section will sum up general life problems that takes place in our life journeys and much more life concerning issues.

For those of you who don't know the reason I haven't been updating as much is because of my little getaway to Atlanta, Georgia and being busy. I love taking trips and getting away. Going away usually gives me an escape from reality and most importantly I have ME time. While I also enjoy the time that I spend by myself to my destinations (China may have been too much time though lol) because I do a great amount of thinking and talking to God---Well I'm trying to listen more actually.

In life, sometimes we live without clearing our minds and we surround ourselves with so much noise that we can't hear what God is trying to tell us. One of my sayings is "The best conversations are the ones we have in silence." I feel it is good to just live life, but if you don't take the time to digest a moment and analyze life you may miss a piece of knowledge that may kill or better your future. Think about a old wise person you know.......when they speak to you about life it's based on what they have learned through experiences and their analysis by living life, along with watching others around them live their lives.

By living life and learning from many life lessons lately I have realize several things:
  • Watch those who you surround yourself with....they can either make you or break you.

  • It's not the Quantity of friends you have, but the quality of friends that matters.

  • Don't expect people to know how to support and treat you the way you want to be treated, by assuming they SUPPOSE TO KNOW...IF YOU NEVER TOLD THEM.

  • Never regret something that once made you smile. :-)

  • If there's no conflict in any relationship you should be concern. What makes any relationship a better one is overcoming problems. Its the pain, laughs, the good and the bad that makes the LOVE appear in any relationship.

  • Put GOD first. I think sometimes we forget God through the good, but when the bad occurs that's all we can think of and call on. This only brings us to a point when we do well in life and then something occurs, which we don't usually understand why.....Little do we know it's just God bringing us closer to him...I leave you with this....IF HE WANTS YOUR ATTENTION HE WILL GET IT!

Peace. Love. SheSoAmbitious

Ambitious Song of the Day: Survivor

This song is one of my favorites and a good motivator. I heard it on my way to ATL and I thought I should remind y'all to forget about them silly haters and traders. Remember.....they even betrayed Jesus.

Ambitious Song of The Day: Forever

RIP Dorothy I. Height (March 24, 1912 – April 20, 2010)

US Civil rights activist Dorothy Height died today at the age of 98. She was the founding matriarch of the American civil rights movement whose misson was for racial justice and gender equality. It was said her death was because of natural causes, in which a spokesperson for the National Council of Negro Women stated.

Ms. Height was among the many of African American leaders who pushed civil rights to the center of the American political stage after World War II, and she was a key figure in the struggles for school desegregation, voting rights, employment opportunities and public accommodations in the 1950s and 1960s.

SMH, we are losing our heros who fought for us. We need to step up as leaders and respect what they fought for. Let's make them proud and not feel like they fight was a waste...

A Hip-Hop Lost

Unfortunately the news is true about another Hip-Hop lost. Artist Guru of 43 years of age died of cancer last night (Monday 4/19/2010). Guru whose real name is Keith Elam, has been struggling for about a year with cancer. With reports from Guru's camp which inferred the cause of death was complications from cancer.
"According to [producer] Solar, Guru suffered from the malicious illness for over a year and after numerous special treatments under the supervision of medical specialists failed, the legendary MC succumbed to the disease. Guru always tried to keep this harrowing diagnosis in private but in early 2010 he had to admit himself to hospital due to serious effects caused by the disease.”
Guru is also known to be one of the co-founders of Gang Starr. This group was known for some major TRUE Hip-Hop classics. Also we can't forget how Guru and Dj Premier used to make magic happen with Hip-Hop. Checkout some music below....

R.I.P Guru and remember one day you can be here and the next day you can be gone...Take advantage of this thing we call...LIFE.

Inspiring Quote of the Day

"Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and griefs which we endure help us in our marching onward." -Henry Ford

Ambitious Song of The Day: If I Ruled the World

BET Banned "Sponsor" Video by Teirra Mari & Soulja Boy

There is this big rumor about how BET has banned Teairra Mari's "Sponsor" video featuring Soulja Boy. Supposedly BET feels the message of the song is negative. They believe the song teaches young women to get what they want by being paid for sex/relations with men. While Ms. Mari feels it's a double standard.

According to Teirra Mari people this is not a rummor. The statement given to the public from her people was this:

I was informed that 106 and Park, a source for African Americans to promote their music, have banned Teairra Mari’s song Sponsor and other projects from surfacing on their channel. No one else will report because they don’t want to put it on blast. I feel bad for the underdogs because they are not given a fair chance and its even worse when your own kind won’t promote you. What’s bad about Sponsor that overshadows any work that Lil Wayne, Ludacris, and many others have showcased on BET? Why is it, do you think, that booty shaking and such is allowed but a video by a woman encouraging others to make it is bad. Why is it that Lil Wayne can perform “Every Girl In the World” with his daughter on stage, but women artists have to be “appropriate”. I understand if they would at least let Teairra come on the show to explain the concept behind the song. It just seems like a shady business where people who have made it have certain control over those that haven’tthrough shady connections.

I know people may say “well who checkin’ for…” but what if these people actually had a chance in the business if it wasn’t so shady?

I don't really care about the song or the video, but it is somewhat of a double standard. We talking about a network who shows ghetto movies every week...Like that's all black people know. Let us not forget the other music videos they do promote. I guess they rather have the girls dance in the video and be quiet....

By the way you can checkout the video below and watch how at the end she pays with HER OWN BLACK CARD.

Rachel Roy Goes Green

I think me and friends just love this WOMAN! I think we love her so much that it is scary. For example, I kind of had to hint my birthday dress to my friends because I didn't want one of them to walk in with the same Rachel Roy dress (lol). It's like she knows what a woman needs from accessories to a quick party dress to just something to throw on. Oh yea, and if you are a celebrity or even the FIRST LADY you love her designs too!

Michelle Obama stunting Rachel Roy!

Those of you who don't know Rachel Roy or just knows her from dating Damion Dash....umm, she's much more. She's a great business woman that you have to love...just say she's Ambitious.

QiQi's Corner: Swizz Beatz Baby?

There have been rumors that Swizz Beatz may have another baby, but not by Mashonda or Alicia Keys. The baby mother is supposedly Jahna Sebastian who happens to be a Russian singer. The child is apparently 2-years old.

The story has been reported by Jahna Sebastian to the Russian and UK media. She allegedly was having an affair with Swizz Beatz when he was with both women...Alicia Keys and Mashonda. While Swizz denies the rumors, it is said that he is paying child support.

I don't know about this one...Alicia, you may lose him the way you got him???? Be careful....

QiQi's Corner: Saving Biggie's Life

Michael Clarke who is known for his role in the "Green Mile," said Biggie could have still been alive. Clarke used to be a security guard and the night of Biggie's death he was supposed to guard Biggie, but he had switched shifts with a friend to guard Babyface.

Hmmm...I think it's sticky to say he would've been alive if he would've done his original shift....

QiQi's Corner: Dancehall Visas Revoked & Bounty Killer Arrested

Recently, a couple of dancehall artists visas has been revoked by the U.S. Supposedly no one has a complete reason on why???? But there are many speculations....

In fact, if you look more into this situation there has been many situations where many reggae artists has lost shows not only in the U.S., but in other places like the U.K. and Germany. Shows have been lost due to things like lyrics and legal issues. For example, Europe has had concerns about homophobic lyrics that these artists has expressed in their music.

As far as the U.S., revoking dancehall artists visas such as Beenie Man, Ricky Trooper, Aidonia, Mavado and Bounty Killer there has been a lot of speculation on the reason. Many have said reasons are because....
  • Artists have been criticized by the LGBT community for their "murder music" that promotes violence against gays.

  • Legal issues concerning drugs.

  • Immigration issues by limiting the back & forth of coming into the United States.

Someone has actually stated "This is another strategy to trap Jamaicans in Jamaica and keep them out of other areas."

Oh yea.....Bounty Killer just got arrested too. He was arrested on a warrant following an incident that occurred on March 25th. Supposedly, his girlfriend decided to end their three-year relationship and he allegedly responded by refusing to not let her go and attacked her.

The story is more interesting you can check it out @ Jamaica Star

Ambitious Song of The Day: Bossman

I say forget the boss...It's about being a CEO (lol) but yea.....

Habana is BACK!

If you a true Brooklynite...Then you know Habana Outpost is the place to be in the summer in Brooklyn. It's where frozen margaritas (other drinks), to Coronas, to the infamous corn on the cob collabs with a diverse group of people being social over food and drinks. Actually, last summer I met many interesting people and had interesting conversations....Yup, just at Habana!April 17th will be the re-opening weekend for this summer!Another official event takes place May 15th....Summer Kick-Off!
