Beyonce Supports Michele Obama "Let's Move!' Campaign

Ummm....I know Beyonce fans will probably want to murder me (cough, cough Stephen), but come on this video is mad young. If she would've done it in the beginning of her career I would understand more, but this is just low budget of Beyonce...take the kids outside or to the gym at least to move they body (lol).

The video is supportive to the First Lady Michelle Obama national "Let's Move!" campaign. One way Beyonce is showing her support for the campaign is by releasing a new version of "Get me Bodied," titled "Move Your Body," to allow students across the country get involved in the initiative, which is supposed to encourage healthy eating and exercise in schools.

Its cool though. Check it out:

Back off Obama Birth Certificate!

Many may disagree with me with this......but why does it seem like when a person of color continue to obtain success and/or in a high powerful position, they are constantly being questioned. Not only do they get questioned by others (mostly white America), but they always have to prove themselves as far as their credentials and qualifications. BACK OFF OUR PRESIDENT....Especially you...CHUMP! (Sorry, I meant Trump)

AssataSays Private Networking Event

This Saturday Assata from AssataSays.com put on a great networking event. The purpose and mission of the event as Assata would put it was to bring "Some of the brightest and talented women together to help and celebrate one another."

Being a friend of Assata's I knew the hard-work she had put towards this event, as well as how nervous she was about launching this event. As I told Assata during the preparation of this event, along with what I told her after the event was simply these words: "Don't worry....It will be fine!" When in reality it was more than fine because the event was a success!
The event was held at Polish Bar at the Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights location. It was a room full of a few industry career women mingling and networking with young Ambitious Ones over manicures & pedicures. There was also some great wine and finger food offered to the guest. Let me not forget, there was also great goodie bags at the end like every successful event should have!
The best advice I think I took from this event was from a future Planner with Macy's and part of her advice was: "Speak good things into your life and continue to keep your faith in God with your dreams." I come to realize when you really have a deep conversation with someone and how they got somewhere in life dealing with their success it will usually come down to one thing....their faith in God.

Great work Assata looking forward to Part 2!

Barack Obama Attacks Technology

Recently, President Obama has attacked technology specifically iPods, iPads, Xboxes, Playstations by stating they are a 'distraction' to the younger generation. He stated his views in a speech to graduated students at Hampton University in Virginia.

President Obama words were the following:

"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth metre. With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations -none of which I know how to work - information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation."

What most people seemed to be confuse about is his attack towards technology, but the irony of him being one the first presidents to run his presidential campaign with a great used of technology. Some is calling Mr. President a hypocrite, while others agree with him.

Personally, I do believe technology is taking over our generation and hurting us in some ways;I can somewhat understand the point of President Obama. I just feel he should have also made it clear during his speech how technology of our generation can be a gift and a curse because the effect of his presidency was a gift!

Here's his speech:

United & Continental Airlines Merging

United and Continental Airlines has confirmed today that the airlines will merge, the intended combination of both airlines merging will be the hope to create the world's biggest airline. The merge is expected to launch at the end of this year, pending based on regulatory approval. If the government do approves the merge, like it did in the past for Delta and Northwest Airlines......this will leaves us with less competition in the marketplace, which will influence me and you, the customers.
As a person that loves to get up and go, this worries me. Flying lately seems to be like a roller coaster and very unpredictable. That's why I'm still working on a flying connect! (lol) So please, if you can help me out let me know and the way I have been traveling within the last few months....I will take full advantage.

RIP Dorothy I. Height (March 24, 1912 – April 20, 2010)

US Civil rights activist Dorothy Height died today at the age of 98. She was the founding matriarch of the American civil rights movement whose misson was for racial justice and gender equality. It was said her death was because of natural causes, in which a spokesperson for the National Council of Negro Women stated.

Ms. Height was among the many of African American leaders who pushed civil rights to the center of the American political stage after World War II, and she was a key figure in the struggles for school desegregation, voting rights, employment opportunities and public accommodations in the 1950s and 1960s.

SMH, we are losing our heros who fought for us. We need to step up as leaders and respect what they fought for. Let's make them proud and not feel like they fight was a waste...

QiQi's Corner: Dancehall Visas Revoked & Bounty Killer Arrested

Recently, a couple of dancehall artists visas has been revoked by the U.S. Supposedly no one has a complete reason on why???? But there are many speculations....

In fact, if you look more into this situation there has been many situations where many reggae artists has lost shows not only in the U.S., but in other places like the U.K. and Germany. Shows have been lost due to things like lyrics and legal issues. For example, Europe has had concerns about homophobic lyrics that these artists has expressed in their music.

As far as the U.S., revoking dancehall artists visas such as Beenie Man, Ricky Trooper, Aidonia, Mavado and Bounty Killer there has been a lot of speculation on the reason. Many have said reasons are because....
  • Artists have been criticized by the LGBT community for their "murder music" that promotes violence against gays.

  • Legal issues concerning drugs.

  • Immigration issues by limiting the back & forth of coming into the United States.

Someone has actually stated "This is another strategy to trap Jamaicans in Jamaica and keep them out of other areas."

Oh yea.....Bounty Killer just got arrested too. He was arrested on a warrant following an incident that occurred on March 25th. Supposedly, his girlfriend decided to end their three-year relationship and he allegedly responded by refusing to not let her go and attacked her.

The story is more interesting you can check it out @ Jamaica Star

Stop The Sag aka Pull-Up Your Pants Campaign

Yessssss! Brooklyn owns State Senator Eric Adams is taking a stand for young people, along with young black men who do not believe in PULLING-UP their pants!

As we know many young men believe showing their boxers to the world is cool, which I'm not a fan of. Allowing your pants to sag was a trend set in prison. I hate when young minorities complain about being harass by cops, but do not try to set themselves apart from the "stereotypical" suspect.
Yes, racism still exist...But why portray yourself with something that is associated with something negative. I am a fan of portraying yourself by what you want to be identify with.

This video is part of Senator Adams's campaign. It is also said Adams spent $2,000 to help with ads you may see in Brooklyn. The billboards are said to be located at Brooklyn locations like Rockaway Parkway, Nostrand Ave., Franklin Ave. and Fulton Street.
